Archive for August, 2009

This is the time of year – the end of August to frost – when ragweed pollen makes life miserable for so many of us allergy sufferers. Hang in there, it will pass. And if you see this anywhere:

ragweed

pull it up by the roots.

You might like it, too. I found it profound and entertaining.

Take a look listen to the August 22 Knitajourney Podcast, title “Conversation with Lise.”

The show is one podcaster interviewing another, and that is always interesting.

Doubleknitski_insideDoubleknitski_outsideThis past week I finished a hat made by special request, from Kauni yarn.

That yarn is a dream to work with, and photographs so well I don’t remember the hat looking so good. The hat is reversible so I show both sides.

The pattern is Doubleknitski by Alison Hansel, from The Blue Blog. I found it on Ravelry.

The yarn is (of course) the Kauni Rainbow EQ.

When I was swimming around Patternfish, I found a few patterns developed especially for Kauni yarns. I have already linked to Patternfish, so I’ll give links to two designers.

A link to Lucy Neatby’s pattern page.

A link to Ruth Sorenson’s pattern page.

You’ll be inspired just looking at the pictures.

… and finally thought to search with the string “sock summit 2009 seattle blog.”

If you are wondering, too, there’s lots of blogging already. Here’s a link to a video from the Oregon Convention Center.
